Using Tools

Beyond the chord reference and progressions, SimpleChord provides several handy tools.

Reverse Lookup

With the reverse lookup tool, you can tell SimpleChord the notes in a chord and it will do its best to tell you what chord it is. To use it, bring it up from the Tools menu and press the notes on the small keyboard that the chord contains. Don't worry if the chord spans multiple octaves, just press the notes in any order, and SimpleChord will try to make sense of them.

Metronome

This tool can help you keep your timing. To use it, bring it up, type in the desired tempo in beats per minute, and press 'Play'.

Tempo Finder

This tool can help find the temp in beats per minute of a song if you tap along to it. Click on the large 'tap' button in the tool for a while. It will average out the tempo of the taps. If you've messed up, press the 'Reset' button.
