To begin building chord progressions in SimpleChord, choose Progressions from the tools menu either in the menu bar or main window.
From there, you can create a progression using the '+' button beneath the source list of progressions. After that, an additional '+' button will appear on the right side of the window. When you've found a chord you want to add to the progression in the main window, press the right '+' button to add it; if you wish to delete a selected chord from the progression, select and press the delete key on your keyboard.
You can press the small play button on the right side of the window to play the progression. If a chord is selected, the progression will be played from that point instead of the beginning. If you want to hear the entire progression, select the first chord or select nothing. Once the progression is playing, the play button will turn into a pause button which you can press to stop the playing.
Press the loop button to toggle looping on and off. When loop is enabled, the progression will start at the beginning again when it has finished. This is handy for many kinds of progressions, including the accompaniment to your rousing renditions of "The Song That Never Ends", "99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall", and "John Jacob Jingleheimer-Schmidt", as well as many not quite so silly.
You can export a progression to several file formats for backup, sharing with other users, or importing into other programs. To export a progression, select the progression in the progressions window, then choose 'Export' from the file menu or from the contextual menu that appears after right-clicking it.
