ShoveBox 1.0.1 Released

I’ve released ShoveBox v1.0.1 to address several bugs:

  • Fixed issue where items would not export properly in some circumstances
  • All .webloc and .textclipping files should now import properly
  • Fixed rare crash that could occur after viewing a web archive
  • Resolved several small UI glitches

After this, I’m hoping to start working on some of the great ideas for features and enhancements that users have sent in.

I just stumbled onto shovebox, have been trying yojimbo, soho notes, mori, eaglefiler and kit, and none off them make me feel comfortable… the simplicity of shovebox is very interesting. I am quickly playing with the demo, and I have one question, where are all the “shoved” items stored ? I can find a shovebox database which seems to be sqlite, but I can’t browse the package contents…
Is everything stored as blobs inside the database or are they still physically accessible ?

Peter: Everything is stored, as you suspected, as blobs inside the database. You can browse the database with any of a myriad of programs written for the purpose.

I’ve been thinking about whether this is the right approach or not. It works reasonably well now, but future versions may very well do away with it.

    Thanks for your interest!
